Tseng Kwong Chi was a Chinese-American photographer and performance artist. He is best known for taking over 5,000 photographs of Keith Haring's subway drawings, but as Harley Wong writes, "ultimately, Tseng helped lay the foundation for many of today’s artists to continue to question the symbolism behind national monuments and examine the idea of racial performance."
