« LE VISAGE DE MON PÈRE » - Exit of residency - august 2022 - performance EN « MY DAD'S FACE » - a performance by Manishart and Alphonse Eklou In a three rooms house, two bedrooms, a toilet, a mother, a son, a bed, some photographs, a pair of scissors, a beer and a cigarette. This is the story of a son and a mother. This is a genocide story. The story of a million deaths The story of one death. This is a story of mourning. This is the story of a son in the quest for his father. This performance is the result of a four days residency around the notion of family heritage in regards to trans generational trauma and invisible memory. We are shedding the light on the need to talk to the dead to tell them what we never could or dare thinking. It is a last chance for this family to express themselves and turn the page at last. ///// FR Une maison trois pièces, deux chambres, une toilette, une mère, un fils, un lit, des photos, une paire de ciseaux, une bière et une cigarette. C’est l’histoire d’un fils et d’une mère. C’est l’histoire d’un génocide. C’est l’histoire d’un million de morts. C’est l’histoire d’une mort. C’est l’histoire d’un deuil. C’est l’histoire d’un fils en quête d’un père. Cette performance est le résultat d’une résidence de quatre jours autour de la notion d’héritage familial par les questions de traumas transgénérationnels et de mémoire invisible. Mettre en lumière la volonté de parler aux morts, leur dire ce qu’on a jamais su dire ni même oser penser. La dernière chance, la dernière chance pour cette famille de s’exprimer et pouvoir peut- être enfin tourner la page.
