I met Alona this April when I visited my best friend Anastasiia in Odessa, a morbidly beautiful city in Ukraine's southern most region. Alona was sitting on the bench without a care in the world, when we partook on our debut photoshoot whilst getting acquainted with each other, my camera (which I was also getting acquainted to) and with my überly cynical sense of humor derived from my father. She understood it all, really understood it all. The simplicity of life, interaction with the environment and a securely matured grasp of her own beauty and personality traits. Something I’m both attracted to and in retrospect jealous of. I wish I was like that as a teen. Alona is intelligent, beautiful and often unintentionally and naturally creative.
