Realized now might be a good time for a life update! As of this week I am now the wardrobe assistant on the national tour of Annie! (@annietourus) This is my second tour, as this past holiday season I was also wardrobe assistant with the west coast company of the tour of “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”, and I am so thankful to be continuing to tour and do a job I love! On a more sentimental note, the past six months have really felt like giving a hug to Little Jenna. I’ve been a lover and maker of theatre since I was a young child, but for years I didn’t really feel like it “loved me back”. I still loved it, but was constantly feeling like I was fighting for my spot to belong. When I was in high school I found costuming and wardrobe and just felt like everything clicked, and here I am now as a young and relatively successful professional making my living doing something I love in the arts. As a kid, touring felt like a pipe dream to me, something I could aspire to but likely would never experience, so being on the road now makes me want to go back in time (without somehow messing with the timeline), give Little Jenna a hug and tell her not only will she be touring, but she will have found a community where she is accepted and celebrated for exactly who she is. ❤️
