Well we survived 2020... what a year it has been. No doubt, there were challenges humanity faced; many adversities and several harsh truths that the world was not ready to address but had to and must continue to! Personally, I entered 2020 on a new path with so many goals to achieve! I started at Sheridan College as a part-time faculty member; continued to grow my businesses and school with @liana.delmastro and then March came. I contracted Covid and life as I thought it may have been, changed forever not just for me but the entire world. I didn’t think fighting through Covid, while keeping my school and businesses alive and teaching virtually for the first time at Sheridan, could get any worse and then society imploded and the reality of how the world viewed me and my fellow BIPOC members came to the forefront in a very brutal and painful manner. Then entered loss of loved ones and the 2020 shit show list kept growing! BUT, I kept the faith and kept pushing through and continued to count my blessings and be grateful for all that I could still do and was given to me. And so, here we are...#2021! Grateful to have survived Covid, a great support system around me of loved ones (near and far) and excited to embark on new ventures this year including growing @tiftpa @cuethelightsco @datgroovefactory @vocalicsmusic alongside Liana! The major venture is stepping into my new role as a Full-Time Vocal Professor at @sheridan_college in the Music Theatre Program of FAAD! It will be a busy year but I am up for this challenge! Most of all, I hope and pray that the world can do better this year! That we may extend unconditional love, kindness and compassion to one and another; that we will judiciously exercise the actions of when to listen and reflect and when to speak up and advocate! That diversity, inclusion and equity won’t just be popular “catchy-words” but rather meaningful virtues that the world embodies and lives by! May this year be all that you want it to be, may it be filled with love, happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, wealth, strength and compassion and so much more goodness!
