a contract in practice I’ve been thinking about a @ktsharpblades class at UArts where she talked with us about the nomadic lifestyle that often accompanies work in the dance industry. When the idea of home is transient and our sense of belonging feels far away, she offered the exploration of finding home in the body. For the past six months, returning to improvisation has been an opportunity for me to drop into my body and process the extremes of ship life - investigating, wrecking, unraveling, disintegrating, alchemizing, releasing, feeling… oh to feel. holding the messiness. this is an offering to me. a reminder, this is my body, this is my home. how can i be more tender with myself? working on finding wholeness. I am led by ideas from @sonyareneetaylor discussion on @glennondoyle We Can Do Hard Things Podcast around RADICAL SELF LOVE: “[it] is our inherent sense of divinity - that enoughness that cannot be exchanged for some capitalist made external reality… the most stunning sunset I ever saw is made of the same material reality as my own beingness… how is that not miraculous and phenomenal… how does that move us to awe and wonder?” music: “Fought and Lost” by Sam Ryder, “Mountains of My Mind” by Chris Stapleton, “Achilles Come Down” by Gang of Youths, “Don’t Forget Me” by Maggie Rogers
