The UF Presidential Search Committee has unanimously recommended current United States Senator Dr. Ben Sasse as the sole finalist to become the 13th president of the University of Florida. Dr. Sasse is a former college president, highly accomplished scholar and nationally recognized authority on higher education. Sasse earned his Ph.D. from @yale and his B.A. from Harvard. He served as past president of @midlandu, taught at Yale and served as a faculty member at @utaustintx. He was selected following an exhaustive search process that included outreach to over 700 applicants and a dozen highly qualified top-tier candidates for interviews. Dr. Sasse will visit Gainesville on Monday, Oct. 10 to meet with faculty, staff and students. The UF Board of Trustees will formally consider Sasse’s candidacy at its meeting Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022.
