Hey!! Happy Friday! It’s me, your favorite AAPI lawyer turned designer who never turns down a drink and swears like no tomorrow - this photo belies the crassness that is truly inherent in me. 😆 And that’s why I thought it important to show my face here, this week especially. People often look at me and make assumptions, valid or not, with malice or not. But you know what? Often they’re based on the way I look and my ethnic heritage: the cat calls, the racial slurs, the surprise 😳 that I’m not submissive - Sam can readily attest to this - the fact that English is my first language, etc. I’m hoping that this week’s events really bring awareness. We’re often considered a model (and invisible) minority. The outpouring of support this week for the AAPI community truly is shocking and so welcomed. ❤️❤️❤️🎈
