I am convinced - CONVINCED - that this song will have a second life. Don’t get me wrong, I love this version that I put out back in June, it’s the same master that will be on my album when it drops next month. The vocals on this version are samples, I picked them because they felt like they had a rawness and an openness and a directness that I was yearning for too. “I’m here for you! I’m here for you! .. come to me! ... you and me baby!” Just got me on the guts as soon as I dropped these samples into the mix. I have zero issue at all with using vocal samples from sample packs - if it works it works, I follow the feeling, I don’t care where it comes from. Except.. I’m convinced there’s a version of this song still waiting to happen - there is a human being on this planet that can click it into that next phase of its journey (that person is not me- I can’t sing) — so I’m looking for someone to sweep in and merge their voice into this, their feelings, their warmth and power and humanity. Make it soar. I’m looking for a voice that can unlock the version of this song that I just KNOW is in there somewhere. Want to help? Tag someone/anyone. Tag a voice. Tag a mate. FYI about half of the lead vocals on my next album come from people sliding into my DMs after posts like this. I’m always up for sharing my tracks to see what other people cook up. I’m way more interested in connecting to artists via this platform, as hard as it is, than I am in “building an audience” whatever that even means anymore
