Repost from @mspackyetti • I can’t imagine how tired he must have been. And he gave us his gift anyway. Chadwick really suffered through all of that for *us.* Think of all the stories he helped tell. All the people he helped find hope. All the Black children for whom he could be a powerful reflection. All despite his own terminal pain. I am astonished by the weight of that sacrifice. What generosity, discipline and love to be forced to look out at the end of your life and decide, “I’m going to live my legacy now.” He chose to tell Black stories with the time he had left.
