@learning_to_drown_film is a semifinalist for Cannes Indie Shorts Awards! Of course I’m grateful for the awards and the festivals we got into. But more so, I’m grateful for the people who were affected by the film and weren’t afraid to let me know I wasn’t alone. All a person wants in this lifetime is to feel like they brought something of value to the world. As someone who really struggles with chronic depression, I often feel like I’m just in the way of things going well, and not bringing anything useful to the table. Admitting that is kinda embarrassing but fuck it. During my darkest hours, I drew so much strength and determination from hearing other people’s stories. That’s why I continue to tell mine. ✨The power of vulnerability is so incredibly strong.
