. ✨Mother: @xii_ii_mmxxi✨ She wrote me: "I've been contemplating sending my birth video for months (my son is now almost 9 months) as I feared public judgement of my most vulnerable moment of my life. However, this is my greatest accomplishment. To be be the last of my sisters to have a child, all of whom had c-sections due to complications and who also left their birthing experiences with more questions than answers, I was determined to ensure that my voice was not only heard but listened to throughout my entire pregnancy and delivery. I was the first of us to opt out of a hospital birth, which was a decision that I had made well before I found out I was pregnant, as I wanted a fully natural birth. In a world that is often very chaotic, I wanted to afford my child the opportunity to be born into peace, even if only for the short time that we were at the birthing center. From the midwives and my doula who assisted me through my labor to my husband who was a very active supporter during the whole process, I feel like my birthing experience was EVERYTHING that I could have imagined, as I felt supported in my decision to allow my body to do just what it was supposed to do the way that it was designed to do it. I know that, for many reasons, every birthing experience is different. I pray that every birthing parent finds as much pride in this accomplishment as I do."
