I am reflecting on a summer spent living in the Badlands and how lucky I feel to have performed in the 2025 Medora Musical alongside incredible people. North Dakota taught me about community. The people who shape Medora operate in an ethic of care. They show up for each other. They are loyal, brave, proud, and kind. The generosity of their spirit knows no bounds, and it warmed my heart. A few shoutouts- Dr. Hannah Freiboth with Revitalize Physical Therapy and Dr. Rebecca Kasian with Little Missouri Chiropractic, for your healing practices. Without you, there would have been one less dancer in the show. Jen at Dakota Cyclery for renting me a bike with free repairs through the season. Adoringly called Mary Jean, that bike was my sole mode of transport and gave me the freedom to explore. Lisa at Hidden Springs Java, for keeping my energy up with delicious, caffeinated beverages and lovely conversation. @sara_cathleen , for your choreography and your invitation to collaborate in the making process. The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, for your commitment to this project and to providing for the cast’s needs. @rwsglobalofficial , for this opportunity and building a space where art thrives. The crew, for every supportive action backstage and encouragement you gave. The cast, for reminding me what it means to be part of a team that lifts each other up. @brandicarlile , for writing music that helps me drop into my improvisational movement practice. I gravitate and return to your work as a vehicle for processing. Art heals. Dance has the power to connect us soul to soul, to help us see the light in each other. And we need more of it. I’ve witnessed the way this show brings people together, year after year. I’m honored to be a small part of carrying on that legacy. “Here’s to 60 mo’!”
