Burn Baby Burn ~ Burning Man 2022. Through the fires of the heart to transformation. It was one of the most heart-opening, heart-breaking, challenging, fun, silly, deep, lonely, and connected Burns ever. It was all the things! In between all that, I rode out to the Burning Man airport to shoot with a heartfelt, creative and wild-spirited photographer who I had first met at the Burn in 2019. I'd come across her on the deep playa taking a photo of a nude man on a couch in front of a carpet with an empty TV & a lamp on it. It was so incongruous and wonderfully weird, I asked if I could join in, and they agreed! That photo was a wonderful reminder of the synchronicity and wackiness of the Burn. The photographer April reached out just before this 2022 Burn and asked if I'd like to meet and do a shoot. It seemed like a perfect bookend to the journey I've been on between the hiatus of the Burn over the last 3 years, so I agreed. I hope you like the shots.
