The view at the top of this peak was ruined by wildfires. And no, there was no fire in the park we were in. But a few hours away, there was a pretty large one. Although we were far away, the smoke crept into the valley. It turned the clear skies to haze within the matter of hours. As our lungs filled with smoke, all I could think about is how fleeting what we have is. Not just our planet, but our life and everything around us. It can all be taken away at any moment.
