Wheel-Trans evolved in the 1980s from a small trial service to a key part of the TTC. Operations were brought in-house and were provided by TTC staff. Service was expanded, ridership greatly increased and new low-floor, custom-designed buses were introduced to meet the needs of Wheel-Trans passengers and Operators.
