What is High Functioning Anxiety 👇🏻 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 Menopause Mental Health 🧠Some levels of anxiety is normal, but high functioning anxiety is a term that refers to people who live with anxiety but identify as functioning well on the outside but not feeling so good on the inside and beneath the surface you are fighting a constant churn of anxiety. (It is not a mental health diagnosis). 🧠Chronic stress and anxiety is unsustainable and can lead to nervous system disregulation which can also lead to an array of long-term health problems. So firstly, take it as seriously as any other health issue. 🧠If you're really honest with yourself, Are you making time for that? 🧠Or are you filling any free moments with more stress, like checking your emails whilst eating your dinner or going to the toilet? 🧠The menopause transition is a time of change and an opportunity to look at what need to change. The menopause transition is a neurological transition (as well as reproductive). Many of the symptoms of menopause are neurological in nature. 🧠Which stressors in your life cannot be controlled and which ones could you decide to change? 🧠Often we don't allow enough time for rest and replenishment it's because we have taken too much on, not all of which may be necessary!
