Celebrations @psyclelondon with @josh_edgington, @gracehershkorn, @flo_laceevans As I reflect on reaching this milestone, I feel full of gratitude on what it has taken to get here, the journey over the past 4 years, those who have supported my journey, & the growth this has enabled. The journey so far has been one of considerable personal growth & development, challenge as I have intentionally embarked on uncharted waters, & so many glimmers (cues of joy, pleasure, peace & gratitude). What has supported me / the learning so far: • Psycle community-as an expat this community means so much to me & is like a surrogate family.The classes have functioned as a lifeboat at times when the turbulent seas have been tricky to navigate.I also value how Instructors model authenticity and connecting to their own experience & vulnerability.This goes against the norm of presenting only aspects that we believe are acceptable.It takes bravery but allows for a deeper sense of connection & belonging. Thank you in particular to the King & Queen of Barre–Josh, @maria_eleftheriou_ldn , @wolfgangmwanje & @alvinmoros; & the special friendships that I have formed within this community. • ‘Staying intentional’ (Wolf)–in life, why you have shown up today.When there is a powerful pull to remain in default patterns.And as Alvin speaks to ‘it’s not about trying to do everything; it’s about doing one small change every day that connects with your vision.’ • Your individual energy matters-the instructor is never alone, your neighbours, the room–we all play a role and impact each other–we are part of a collective energy system. • Space in classes to allow for a deeper integration of physical, emotional & psychological aspects of self.The shift from compartmentalising these aspects to bringing them altogether, has been integral in improving my wellbeing. • Creating the space/freedom to play. • Learning to tune in more to what my body needs.I would like to thank Josh in particular who has often been the ‘wise voice’–helping me navigate the tricky path around this. • Embarking on new experiences & drawing inspiration from others tapping into their creativity & imagination.
