Went from walking around with churros to sitting down! Exhausted!! @ladwpofficial wiped out access to @casavegarestaurant from 9am-4pm this week. I constantly called DWP supervisors, council office and mayor office each day. Every time I’d raise hell, they’d barely open alley access in one direction that required you weave through cones. I’d really like to thank the few brave and clever customers who weaved through cones or made the scavenger hunt journey to Dixie Canyon alley to still come dine with us! Thank you for supporting our workers who live off gratuities, including our kitchen staff. @casavegarestaurant covered all wages this week for our workers, regardless of business. I have a dream one day the City of Los Ángeles will value the hard working humans that wash dishes, scrap plates, prepare food and deliver drinks. They deserve job stability. The City time and time again treats restaurant workers as disposables. So... it’s churros for breakfast as I ponder how such a “Democratic” city can turn it’s back repeatedly on low-income workers.
