When I was filming the Christmas Special a little over a year ago, I left Másha’s house telling her she owed me a script for a short film she had an idea for. A couple of weeks later, Dave came to my place to drop off a hard copy. We sat on my couch chatting for a long time and I was bummed when he had to go. But when he left I read it immediately, sent one of my screenplays back to him, and we talked about our films on FaceTime for two hours. I was sad when we had to hang up and he sent me a list of 38 movies I should watch. Fast forward to a little over a year later, and that list has grown to a scratch off poster of 250 Movies, and we’re almost done writing our first little narrative short together. And I still get sad when one of us has to leave. ⁣ ⁣ Being in love with Dave is so special. It makes me feel like a little kid again, getting excited about the littlest things, just cause I’m happy to be here. Having him by my side has helped me learn to love myself in ways I never imagined possible. We facilitate each other’s growth– in our art, our careers, as individuals, and most importantly, together. He is Bebo and Fifi’s “other daddy.” He’s my bubba and my best friend, and whether we’re watching tv on the couch, making art together, playing video games, or trying a restaurant we saw on Tik Tok, every day is a new adventure. I can’t wait to make many more with you. I love you Dave, happy anniversary. ❤️
