Does price equal performance when it comes to skincare? Many times no, sometimes yes. A lot of factors determine price. Many of these brands at both luxury stores and drugstores are formulated at the same contract manufacturer or are owned by beauty conglomerates, which means they have access to the same resources. However, that’s not to say that expensive or luxury skincare isn’t worth it, especially if a brand has substantiation to back up claims for a proprietary ingredient or technology. In that case, the price might make sense. However, this isn’t always the case.
