Can you believe these š clouds?? Have you ever heard of polar stratospheric clouds before?? We spent many years working towards and imagining experiences like this, and I certainly donāt take them for granted! I couldnāt stop laughing and happy crying as we watched these clouds float across the sky. Witnessing this last night was unexpected, surreal, and a āright place, right timeā moment. (I shared more about them below ;) The past month has been one of the best in my whole life, the little adventures weāve been able to take in daily life have truly lit up my soul more than I knew was possible. It makes all the hard work, grief, feeling directionless, uncertainly, doubt, financial difficulties, and hard moments of the past years more than worth it. I think we and I are finally hitting our stride here in Norway (after moving here from Montana) and it feels so good. All the hours of work, administrative tasks, studying, logistics... all the drudgery of daily life I used to avoid and procrastinate, I do it with focus when I remember thereās moments like this waiting out there in the world. And the thing is, no matter where we live thereās always a spark of excitement beyond the ordinary that can be ignited and give us purpose and passion. It doesnāt have to look any certain way, but for me itās moments like this. Ok now for some cool information about these clouds for those interested!! They form a handful of times a year near the north and south poles. They are caused when the sun hits ice crystals at 15,000ā25,000 m (49,000ā82,000 ft) in the stratosphere, at twilight. They have been occurring more frequently due to climate change, and CAN also appear due to pollution :( The arctic has actually been colder than usual, and these clouds tend to destroy the ozone, which I was very sad to learn as they are quite spectacular to witness. I hope these are a reminder of how beautiful and amazing life can be, even when itās not perfect. And that so many magical things we canāt imagine yet are out there (and within us) waiting to be witnessed. #p#polarstatosphericcloudss#stratosphericcloudsn#norwayi#innlandets#sunsetloverss#sunsets#skiingo#ourplanetdaily
