This afternoon at the Met Museum Of Art’s Gallery B Michael @B Michael, fashion designer and author spoke with the legendary award-winning songwriter, musician and singer Valerie Simpson about his new book “Muse: Cicely Tyson and Me: A Relationship Forged in Fashion.” Valerie Simpson was wearing the famous black and white earrings Oprah gave the “youngins” at the Legend’s Ball along with a B Michael Dress. In attendance was American Ballet Theatre’s Principal Dancer Calvin Royal III @Calvin Royal III who is one of the most elegant young men in New York, Pamela Newkirk, and the esteemed Patricia Butts of the Abyssinian Baptist Church. B Michael shared with us stories of his Grandmother who always nurtured and supported his creativity and of course stories about the great Cicely Tyson. B Michael dressed Cicley Tyson for the Tony awards and the Academy Awards. Afterwards, the guests went to Valerie Simpson’s restaurant Ashford & Simpson’s Sugar Bar on 72nd st. Guests were served champagne, lamb chops, and salmon croquettes.
