trying to think of how to explain the makuru slums has taken me awhile because while it’s probably an experience you could imagine you just won’t truly understand unless you actually experience it. as cliche as that sounds, it is just the truth. let’s just say, if i had to pick one place to spend the whole trip.. it would be here. YALL GOD WAS MOVING. we spent 2 days here, same place totally different experiences day 1 we spent taking a tour of deliverance church, which is run by mary mambo who started the cana family life center. her facilities include a school for up to 6th grade, a rescue center, a clinic, and a maternity hospital! after taking tours of each building, we got to split up into our teams and went into these places stories continue in the comments!! p.s. i’m really trying to get together more posts hopefully those will come out soon lol 🫶🏻
