#tbt Missing the great Ali Woodson today. What a friend! He sang “Treat Her Like A Lady” at my wedding in 1996 – a moment I’ll never forget. Years later we toured together in the play The Clean Up Woman. After his cancer diagnosis, he started performing “Treat Her Like A Lady” at curtain call. Child... while others sang along and danced, I was usually waaaay too emotional. In his final days, sitting in his hospital room, we cut up and shared all the tea. In that moment, I stopped feeling emotional and started feeling grateful for our time together. All of this to say, enjoy every moment with your loved ones! ♥️
