It’s official…I’ve lost 💯 pounds!!! I started on this path in August 2020 after a blood test with a dozen red flags including being borderline prediabetic with off-the-charts blood pressure. I was unemployed at the time, so I decided to make getting healthy my job. I lost 50 pounds in 6 months, then between work and life (back on the job late 2020) I gained 20 back over the next 6 months. Fast forward to today where I re-lost those 20 and then 50 more, which I attribute to three things: 1. Eating Healthier + 20:4 Intermittent Fasting (huge shoutout to @snapkitchen which has made the majority of my meals the last 20 months) 2. Walking (the only exercise I do, but I do a whole damn lot of it) 3. Getting Sober on 8/10/21 (9 months & 70 pounds ago today!) #3 was the gamechanger for me, an opportunity to embrace a wholesale lifestyle change. Oddly enough, my sobriety date was exactly 1 year to the day after I started my fitness journey (Not planned…Coincidence? Fate? Higher Power? You decide). I’ve gone from XXL to M, size 42 pants to 33, 275 pounds to 175 (I weigh less than I did all of high school!). Happier, healthier, and all the positive things you can imagine would result from this. Thanks to everyone for all the support along the way and putting up with my annoying IG story walking updates. Your encouraging messages really lifted me up and kept me motivated to get here.
