Had a client ask me the other day... If I’m on point with my nutrition and workouts, how big of a deal is it if I’m not getting 8 hours of sleep each night?? It’s a valid question - we’re all super busy and sometimes it feels like those extra 1-3 hours each night could be better spent elsewhere. But here’s the reality: LITERALLY NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SLEEP. (probably not what you wanted to hear lol) Although this was a small study, it’s just one of many that highlights the difference in fat loss & muscle retention among people are sleep deprived. It also shows that, while yes you can still technically lose weight while skipping sleep... your body will metabolically adapt in a way that favors energy preservation & fat storage. This is the same discovery I had after banging my head against the wall with clients who were “doing everything right” and still not getting any results. I realized that YES your macros & workouts have to be set up properly (that’s a no brainer) - but if you have underlying gut issues, inflammation, hormone imbalances, etc... then it becomes so much more difficult to lose weight and/or build muscle. I’ve witnessed clients heal their gut and immediately drop 15 lbs without changing a THING (and this is after months and months of being stuck at the same place) I’ve seen clients heal their hormones and break thru plateaus by eating MORE, and exercising LESS. It’s all about bringing the body back into balance. When you start to focus on this, I promise you will 10x your results 🙏🏼 #sleep #fatloss
