This Easter week I watched my sister and brother in law become the best parents in the world as I watched them bring life into this world, and three short days later watch their baby go to heaven. Through this loss I have seen peace protect our family, and given comfort that truly only God can provide. Communities coming together to pray, support and love so deeply shining a light on the true importance of life and how lucky we are every day to be alive, healthy, with our loved ones, and to never take it for granted. Josefine, you are a perfect angel and I am so grateful I got to see you come into this world and also watch you peacefully leave your mommy’s arms, into the arms of Jesus. You have changed our family’s life forever. Finitude can be something that’s hard to accept, but life is sweet not because it lasts forever. It’s sweet because all the moments in our lives we don’t know how long they will be there for. And even though my heart breaks over wishing you were here snuggling with us, the dreams of you playing with my babies, or watching my sissy show you the world, I am also so grateful I was able to hold your hand, kiss your soft face, and watch you be so loved by your mom and dad as you took your last breath. Hug your babies extra tight today and tell the people around you that you love them because life is nothing short of a miracle.
