Healthy Fats & Omega’s: I haven’t forgotten about breaking down those key nutrients to focus on when starting solids, but mom life ya know? So next up...Healthy Fats and Omega’s, known for their big role in brain development. I recommend including healthy fats in your little one’s meals as most brain growth is completed by the age of 5-6 years old. When starting solids I like to use a variety of healthy fats when preparing meals. Cooking with olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, ghee and grass fed butter (once tolerating dairy) are all great sources of healthy fats that pack a lot of nutrient punch! Nerd alert: the human brain is made up of 60% fat, specifically DHA! Stay with me...so if we offer our little ones food rich in omega 3’s (DHA) we are contributing to getting those tiny brains strong! If your family is plant based do not fear, there are wonderful supplements out there, just look for high quality. What ways are you getting those omega’s and healthy fats in? We’re a sardine fam over here! #peachgrove #ohbabynutrition #ohbabycertified
