Bortkiewicz Piano Sonata No. 2 in C# Minor - Mvt. III Andante misericordioso🇺🇦 On April 15th, 2025, I presented my solo junior paino recital, titled “Watercolors.” The program included all 20th century impressionistic (or impressionist-influenced) piano works by Debussy, Ravel, and Bortkiewicz. This particular movement of the Bortkiewicz sonata has long spoken to me, even prior to learning the piece. I hear God’s voice speaking clearly in between these textures. Getting to learn the work was a very spiritual process as I got to channel my heritage into my performance. May we all continue to fight and pray for peace in Ukraine and around the world!
