It’s story time! . A couple months ago, I met @idrismusiq at a session in Harlem and got each other’s socials. One of the first things I saw was a video of him with @amandabarise and others doing James Francies’s arrangement of Ain’t Nobody. I thought it was wild, so I saved it like people do. Weeks after, @jasynbrazoban hits me up trying to think of a new artist to feature for our end of the year show, and I IMMEDIATELY had a name in mind, so I send Jasyn some of Amanda’s stuff and he’s on board before the first video’s even over. . Fast forwarding to this past Tuesday, @the_chronicles_music wrapped up our residency at Chris’s in the company of our best friends and acquaintances, but with a twist. Jasyn DID get Amanda to come perform with us, and together, we were truly truly a different unit. I could talk about the whole show, but I wanted to show y’all a snippet from my Ain’t It Fun arrangement one more time. Y’all have heard it for about a year now, but THIS is what it was supposed to sound like. I’m not just saying that because homegirl killed it, it’s just my genuine truth. That night was my first time hearing someone apply the lyrics to that madness I scribbled outta my head. Between how it came out, my reaction, and the people’s reactions, I was reminded once again as to why I do what I do. Reminders cans be rewards too, so if this is the reward I get, then I can’t imagine what’s next.
