Judge #2!!! Melaneice Gibbs @its_melsworld Melaneice Gibbs is a creative director, choreographer, and baton twirler. Her dance background includes ballet, jazz, contemporary, and West African. She has 10 years of experience coaching, choreographing, and creating diverse opportunities for majorette dancers in the community. She has produced pageants for the Miss Black & Gold Midwest Pageant, Mel J's KidFit Kamp, and Dance the Halls Christmas Benefit Show. As a former HBCU performer with Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South, she is known for creating forward-thinking concepts within the realm of HBCU dance. She continues this legacy through her nationally viewed choreography for Tennessee State University's Sophisticated Ladies! @tsusophisticatedladies Melaneice’s choreography was featured at the 2022 Essence Festival with Gospel Artist Jekayln Carr, Sir the Baptist, Kierra Sheard, and Dubba-aa, “Dance Revival” music video with Jekayln Carr, 2022 ESPN College Game Day Campaign, 2021 Rose Bowl Parade, multiple halftimes for NBA and NFL teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Tennessee Titans. She continues to bridge the gap between HBCU dancers and NBA & NFL dance and cheer teams. She has partnered with the Memphis Grizzlies to coordinate the first majorette dance competition hosted by a NBA team and shares her voice on a diversity committee with coaches and choreographers from the Memphis Grizzlies "Grizz Girls," Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, and the Tennessee Titan Cheerleaders. When she is not coaching for the Sophisticated Ladies, she uses her platform and network to pour into her community. Melaneice is passionate about cultivating the next generation of HBCU and professional dancers. She serves as the Majorette Liason for McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour HBCU Integration. As the owner of 5th Quarter Auxiliary Training Center and assistant performance director for 4.0 Movement Studios she gives the community authentic HBCU majorette experiences, while also empowering young women to feel confident through dance.
