Monday tip: cultivate true self-
love, compassion, and inner strength in yourself.
This is no easy task, I know. Trust me, I spent most of my youth battling inner demons. Many of you don't know that I suffered from a severe eating disorder from the ages of 16-32. I tried to end my life in my first year of university because the episodes were daily, and seemingly without end. I know what it is like to give up on yourself. I know what "the void" feels like because I lived in it for so long. I know what it's like to wake up with the very best intentions and then a few hours into the day take a wrecking ball through all my efforts, snuffing out all hope and trust in myself with reckless abandon only to suffer the pain and fear of the consequences.
Never give up on yourself. Like many who have overcome hard things, my struggles taught me so much, gave me so much, and created the strength and perspective that I have today.
Nothing is a true failure if you keep on trying. ❤️ One of the great blessings of our humanity is
that we CAN grow, we CAN learn, and we CAN evolve. Some of us have to learn a lesson several times to truly learn it, and that's okay. Forgive yourself, learn from each lesson, improve your process, reach out for help, and carry on! Know
that your breakthrough moment is just around the corner, and keep building up a process that will lead you towards a wiser navigation of your particular life challenges. Be okay with giving up things that take you away from inner peace.
Take notes as you evolve. Read, and listen to experts in self-growth. Capture your wins and plaster them all over our bedroom walls or phone. Have an inner circle that supports your growth.
How have you overcome difficulty? What helped you? Share below. If some of you are struggling, read through the comments for good take-homes.
Together we can upward spiral and help each other faster, stronger, and wiser. ❤️
If you or someone you know is in danger of suicide, contact your local law enforcement for immediate help. You can also encourage the person to contact a suicide prevention hotline by texting or dialing 988.
