We won. Thanks to you, our movement beat more than a million dollars in money meant to stop us. We ended last night with a 58% majority, winning by more than 26 percentage points. Neighborhoods across Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens resoundingly elected a 27-year-old socialist Latina to office. Our collective victory showed that our power as democratic socialists isn't just safe, it's growing. And we want to thank each and every one of you for making this victory possible. We didn't just stop powerful moneyed interests from buying our district in progressive strongholds. We multiplied our lead to show once and for all that socialism is here to stay, and we expanded our movement across New York this year, from Manhattan to the Hudson Valley. In Brooklyn, we won by a shocking 65 percentage points, winning four to one. In Queens, we won by an incredible 40 percentage points, winning two to one. In Manhattan, we won neighborhoods like Stuyvesant Town against the odds and elected our first-ever @demsocialists candidate to the borough. This campaign was built 900 volunteers and 2,400 individual donors. Our coalition included more than fifty unions, grassroots organizations, and local elected officials. Together, we put in the work to win because we believed that a better future isn't just possible, but already underway. Thank you for your incredible support. Our work doesn’t end here, and we'll continue organizing until working people have power over our own futures. We'll build on this win to pass bills like Good Cause and Build Public Renewables. Not some day — but next year. And last night, we showed that socialism will win. Because we make New York. And we truly are just getting started. 🌹
