Celebrated landscape architect Janice Parker (@janiceparkerjpla) has won the 2022 Design Leadership Award! Janice is the first landscape architect to win the award, and the DLN community couldn't be prouder of her. Janice's work demonstrates the essential role that the natural world plays alongside built environments. What's more, she is regarded as a mentor whose longtime involvement with community-based initiatives expresses her commitment to making the natural world accessible and enriching for all people. ⁠ ⁠ Always an active participant in the community, she is a member of the @nyrp's Chairman’s Council, through which she has designed and restored community gardens around New York City, and was a founding member of the team that developed the @milliontreesnyc initiative. A member of the Stewardship Council for the Cultural Landscape Foundation (@tclfdotorg), she has also taught at Rutgers University, @nybg, and @thehort, in addition to special lectures around the country.⁠ ⁠ The DLA is by no means her first award. Her firm's various honors include the 2017 New England Design Hall of Fame Award from @nehomemagazine, 2016 Stanford White Award from @classicist_org, and the 2015 Professional Merit Award from @nationalasla.
