Answered prayers. 🙏🏽💫💖 Whatever we don’t express, we repress. And the body keeps the score. The past year, we’ve been practicing The Emotion Code, an energy medicine modality created by @officialdrbradleynelson that’s helped us quickly identify and clear trapped emotions that were either too overwhelming to fully process in a traumatic moment, absorbed from someone else or inherited from an ancestor. Yes! Like hair/eye color, height, or hereditary disease, we can also inherit trapped emotions from our parents and past generations on both sides. In doing this work guided by our trusted Higher Power, we’ve cleared trapped emotions that my family’s been carrying for generations, including from our slave ancestors. From the bitter brutality of white (and black) slaveholders to colonialized self-hate for being a woman or having African features, to the crushing sorrow of watching your children sold away to the highest bidder or the shock & horror of having your freedom, sovereignty & voice stripped away with no redress, we all walk through the world carrying the invisible pain bodies of our ancestors. As recent events have shown, generational family trauma has many faces & expressions. The good news: it’s possible to be free of the shackles of our ancestral pain bodies & soar on the wings of angels. No matter how devastating, all trauma can be completely healed - even trauma between races or nations - if we’re willing to do the work. Walking through the world free of the shackles of my ancestral pain body has created a lightness of being so powerful it can’t be put into words; an unshakable certainty of my own sovereignty & destiny.
