Yesterday, we lost our dear friend and collaborator Howell Binkley. His work with light and color was simply inspired. Everything I could think to bring to the stage, was then taken by him, held up, and brought to shine in a way I could only dream about. Amazing artist. Better man.
"Moments of pure brilliance by Howell Binkley, forever engrained into my soul."

Heights: 96K, final slow mo front light cue going into the button
Hamilton: Ham beginning to sing Hurricane, with the lights on the floor closing in around him.
Hamilton: Burr beginning to sing Room, with the boxes of light opening up around him.
Heights: Finale (and opening) slow mo circle, “there’s a breeze off the Hudson"
Hamilton: My Shot...the first time I saw “I imagine death”...
Heights Blackout: the dancers wrenched in pain around Mr. Rosario as he sings “please find Nina”
Hamilton: Obedient Servant, the box opening around Burr going into “I wanna be in the room where it happens"
Hamilton: Room, ‘click boom’
FLY: Tracking, the line of light following the pirates downstage on the attack
Heights Blackout: the red world of danger as Abuela and Usnavi try to protect the money
Hamilton: One Last Time, the upstage to downstage avenue of light fades up exactly as Ham and GW step into it. They pass each other.
Heights: pretty much every second of Blackout. How do you even light a Blackout?Hamilton: Finale, the color of “orphanage”
Hamilton: Finale, the color of “orphanage"
Deep cut...I was an audience member for this one...the last cue of the first act of Kiss of Spiderwoman, as the house lights bump on, clutching my heart. 💔
