Prayer For me it’s been solace Mess Stillness Deep holding Steeping in the not-knowing A teacher of mine says Manika, life is for singing and dancing Celebration And when I sing in prayer the thin skin that holds in the tears Breaks with my voice And an outpouring Comes through like a wave There is some relief before there is more to relieve This process is never ending work I don’t pray to people Or idols But symbols and stories Or love Deep friendship and love I pray to that It has been the life raft that kept me swimming In the deep restless oceans of becoming Sound Fire Metal Wood Water And with each sit down and commune with the void I become strong enough to bend and not break In this ever changing experience. #love #spirit #humanity #meditation #topanga
