🌈🌍It’s our #EarthDay birthday! 🎉🥂 15 years ago, we broadcast the first episode of Conscious Living - an eco-lifestyle travel show conceived on a beach in #Bali - documenting our (often stumbling) adventures in becoming more mindful. When we officially launched the show on Earth Day 2007, we had NO idea what the Universe had in store for us, or the planet. At the time, climate change was more of a scientific theory than an experienced reality, & the idea of going Net Zero in our home seemed like an impossible dream. Years later we moved to Palm Desert, an earthy oasis where the sun shines brightly over 350 days a year!!!🌞🌴 Shockingly - despite the global climate crisis - only 4% of homes in the U.S. actually utilize solar energy, which can exponentially reduce both global warming & rising energy bills. Through the show & our lives, our philosophy has always been to take any steps we can to live a bit more consciously - whether going plant-based to reduce our human carbon footprint by 78%, wearing eco-fashion to minimize landfill garbage from throw away #fastfashion, traveling green, staying in #ecohotels, buying #carbonoffset credits to fly, retrofiitting an existing midcentury modern home, meditating or just trying to be kinder to one another. 💖 The journey towards mindfulness looks different for everyone. For us, going solar represents a quantum leap in not just cleaning up after ourselves and honoring #motherearth, but contributing positively to the local community by providing solar power to our neighbors through our new state of the art #microgrid powered by @sunpower.
