After going off hormonal birth control, your first couple periods might be irregular due to shifts in hormone levels and a delayed ovulation return. Some people may also experience spotting, breast tenderness, changes in their weight, hormonal acne, mood swings, and headaches. Thankfully, your cycle should go back to normal within three months of getting off of most forms of birth control (with the exception of the Depo shot).
