Inkquisitive x Marvel Studios x Disney MS MARVEL!!!! • My absolute all time dream came true a few weeks ago - to be commissioned by @marvelstudios x @disney to create artwork for @msmarvelofficial - What!!!? • I had the pleasure to be part of a collective of artists bringing to life one episode and had the opportunity to work on Episode 5! I was drawn in (pun intended!) to the entire south asian elements of this show and in particular Episode 5. There is much to grasp in this Episode which does focus more on history and the times that have paved many living in India/Pakistan. I resonate with this episode and remember seeing the opening scene of a stone which reads 'Amritsar' the city where my Dad lived as a child. • Growing up he would (and still) continues to share the history of the knowledge he knows of the partition. With that said, its fitting that the line 'what you seek is seeking you' pops up and I resonate with this episode beyond belief. This is why there are fragments of history in my artwork but not forgetting the exciting magic, action and past and present occurrences which is phenomenal! • Ms Marvel is more than just about learning about the super powers of a muslim girl who can simply conquer any challenge and be incredible at it! But it's also a walk through culture, heritage, history and tradition of south asian lifestyle and practice. Though Ms Marvel does offer celebration through difference it also allows us to time travel and really get involved with the adventure. The bright colours and attention to detail has been a delight to view and I look forward to what is yet to come. Being a huge Marvel and Disney fan, I never thought we'd be seeing a South Asian superhero, so this is a wonderful moment and one I am glad to have celebrated through my Ink! • This collaboration is one I’ll be hopeful (God willing) to tell my Grandchildren about. That once upon a time, that kid from east london got to work with Disney and Marvel Studios.
