Honored to be part of “THE HARDER THEY COME” 50th Anniversary show at @10akingston Childhood memories live here. Perry Henzel and my father David Ogden worked in these buildings, the offices of Vista Productions. Trevor Rhone, my brilliant god-father, co-wrote the film. I can still taste the dust in the air and feel the intense but musical atmosphere that filled this space. The quilt is based on a sketch of the buildings by Sally Henzel, and my process was to pay tribute to the 10a compound that saw the creation of the film, and hosted the characters both in front and behind the cameras. The colors were from the incredible film poster designed by John Bryant, and the two palms embroidery is the the original International Film Management logo that rumor has it my father drew. So yes, this is a special one for me... 🌴🌴 Thank you @ the Henzel family for including me in this inspiring exhibition, and thank you Perry.. The Ogdens would not be here, in Jamaica if it were not for you! Also shown are some of the many incredible pieces by a multitude of artists, poets, and musicians.
