I was recently invited to speak and skate at @innoskate A uniquely awesome event entirely centred around skateboarding culture and innovation. It was organised by the Smithsonian @si_invention @levittsiouxfalls @mikivuckovich and @joshfriedberg I hope the panel I was on gave people a fresh take on this thing we call “mental health” and some new ideas about how to learn more and improve skills in managing and talking about it. There were also panels on the Pine Ridge Skate Community (shout out @lakota_skateboarding_605 & @groundcontrol605 ) DE&I in the skate community (shout out to @traciegara @oscarloretojr @chrispastras @moses_idris ) @professorschmitt on the evolution of the skateboard and necessity being the mother of invention And more And then, to top it all, the Smithsonian Masterworks Jazz Orchestra player the soundtrack to @stereoskateboards A Visual Sound for its 30th anniversary.
