5 years ago I was sitting in a doctor’s office with people telling me that my diagnosis would hold me back from many things in life. 4 years ago I got my first set of leg braces to help my balance. I vowed to never wear shorts or bathing suits in public and show the braces. 2 years ago I became an ambulatory wheelchair user and full time in a walker. The thought of someone I knew seeing the “new me” made me want to hide and never leave the house. Today I am now signed to a modeling agency and getting hired for my disability. Being a part of @tommyhilfiger fashion show I felt no shame on the runway. I met the most wonderful people.
