I’m bad at taking time to reflect. I literally travel with a little sign that says Let Go, Go On. But I find myself not wanting to move out of this summer without taking a moment to remember all the wonderful gifts I’ve been given. This spring I got to direct some of my favorite students in one of my favorite shows. Then I choreographed Jersey Boys, which ended up being more of a challenge than I expected, but also more of a gift. I was elated to spend an incredible week chaperoning for the International Thespian Festival, which filled my head and heart with big ideas. After nearly 2 years away, I got to return to the stage in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and School of Rock, both sharing the stage with my forever love, and reminding me of my first theatre love. I got to spend 2.5 weeks in PA choreographing Jersey Boys pt 2 re-connecting with old friends, soaking up wisdom, and celebrating an early 7 years of a dream marriage. It was invigorating to be back on the road together, revisiting 2 theatres that have been so special to us. It was a busy summer full of meetings, ever-changing plans, and moving all our stuff out of our apt and into a pod. But I’m grateful for every single moment of this life, and especially for the people I get to share it with. Let go. Go on. Love.
