One-of-a-kind Gibson 80s Explorer honoring Armenia The one-of-a-kind 80s Explorer prototype is based on the popular 1984 model and features the Armenian Tricolour, symbolizing the country's beauty, faith and freedom. The guitar features a fast-playing SlimTaper mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. The iconically-shaped mahogany body is outfitted with new 80s Tribute pickups that accurately capture the unique fat-toned sound and rich sustain of the models from that era. Recently played live by Gibson Brands Brand President Cesar Gueikian, the proud son of Armenian refugees, at the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival in Franklin, Tennessee.
