In coordination with the opening of ‘Troy Montes Michie: Rock of Eye’ at the Contemporary Arts Museum-Houston, please join us for an in-person conversation at the museum on Saturday, September 24th from 2pm-3pm CST between the artist and Professor Catherine S. Ramírez for a discussion about their shared investments in histories of the zoot suit in Latinx communities. Prof. Ramírez is a professor and Chair of Latin American and Latino Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is the author of ‘The Woman in the Zoot Suit: Gender, Nationalism, and the Cultural Politics of Memory’ (Duke University Press, 2009).
