Gave my first guest lecture a couple weeks ago as a part of London Metropolitan University’s Black British Studies module. The lecture outlined how we can build power and challenge oppressive systems through Black art - examining how the production of culture can be used to fight for a different future. From how the Black Panther Party used graphic design to communicate their vision for liberation, to how albums like J Hus’s ‘Big Conspiracy’ re-write narratives on Black life in Britain.
