Part 4: Humour in Belgian Art (1830–2022)’ ♟🍌🍷 >> 5th floor – Free access through the M HKAFE entrance __ We can sometimes discern the contours of an elusive and difficult-to-define concept such as 'Belgian identity' or Belgitude in literary texts by Paul van Ostaijen, Louis Paul Boon, Hugo Claus or Tom Lanoye. The post-war visual arts also bear traces of a collective imagery vis-à-vis the Belgian (non-)identity. During his artistic exploration over the past five decades, Ronny Van de Velde developed a special interest in the strategies through which Belgian artists artistically translated their identity.
