My political affiliation is no secret to anyone who knows me, or even follows me. I have always believed politics is my passion, second only to music. In recent weeks I have been in a very dark place, even with how optimistic I had felt about the election. I have allowed people to try and tell me who I am and what values I can or cannot have. They have questioned my faith. I have let others judge me for being outspoken about these beliefs. Then, yesterday, I couldn’t understand why my country chose hate over joy. Money over integrity. Convenience over environment. Fear over hope. The list goes on. I felt fear for my friends, my sister, my future wife and children. Despite the outcome of the election, I woke up today feeling renewed in my sense of self worth and identity. I couldn’t be prouder to be a faithful Ukrainian Catholic American who believes and supports women. I am proud to call myself an ally to my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. I am unapologetically pro-gun control, and adamantly supportive of green energy. I strongly condemn all facets of violence at home, in Ukraine, in Israel, in Palestine, or anywhere else. I will proudly tell you that I am pro-immigration, all the while being unapologetically Pro-America. I know the next four years will be tough, but I couldn’t be more excited to stand up with and for the people I love. I could not be more proud than I am now to hate hatred. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God” Matthew 5:9 Please enjoy my favorite photos of me and the friends I love most celebrating how awesome life is. Praise God.
